UMSL is hosting ten student interns from Jennings Senior High School for the summer. This program begins on Monday, June 19, at the UMSL Department of Biology in Research Building room 223.  We will spend the first full week in orientation, using the first day for basic introductions to campus and getting your UMSL ID cards and finishing any unfinished paperwork. The rest of that week to have instruction on basic science and how it is done at the university level, laboratory safety (most but not all of you will be working in science research laboratories), expectations of the NAF program from Jennings, and general expectations of our UMSL/Jennings internship program, and other introductory information.

On the second through sixth weeks, starting June 26, students will work Monday through Thursday with your research mentor, on a schedule that you agree upon together.  Student funding for full-time participation (8 hours per day for 4 days per week for 6 weeks, plus 8 hours  every Friday, all at the rate of $12/hour).

Final Day of the program is Friday, July 28, and on that date we will have a celebration of your accomplishments, invite family, friends, and JHS teachers and administrators, to hear your presentations on your summer experience.
