Education

I received my Bachelor of Arts from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State) from the honors college with departmental distinction in Psychology.  My first job after college was at Lakeland Regional Hospital, a psychiatric facility in Springfield.  While I enjoyed that, I decided that I wanted to pursue certification as a teacher.

I completed coursework for Missouri teacher certification at the University of Missouri St. Louis.  My first teaching assignment was 8th grade Social Studies at Jennings Junior High School.  After 8 years of teaching Social Studies, I was ready for a change.

I earned a Masters Degree and Library Media Specialist certification at Lindenwood University in St. Charles and left my Social Studies classroom for the Jennings Junior High School Library.  I was the Junior High Librarian for 5 years before moving to the Senior High School.   This is my eighth year at Jennings Senior High.
